FAQs – Frequently Asked Questions

I can’t find my prescription on your site – what am I supposed to do?

Valisure only sells medications that have been calibrated and rigorously analyzed, therefore our inventory of drugs is limited; however, it grows every day!  Please sign up and tell us which drugs you are looking for.  We want to hear from you and we want to concentrate first on the drugs that our customers tell us they need most.

Also, if you’ve experienced medication variability issues with any of your meds, please tell us about it here: report bad meds.  All this information will help guide us to add and analyze the medications that matter to you most as quickly as we can. We’ll send you updates when your meds are available and you’ll be among the first to hear about our consumer protection studies.

Which states can you ship to and what if my state isn’t listed?

We are currently licensed to ship prescription medications to the following 23 states:

AK, AZ, CO, CT, FL, GA, IL, MA, ME, MN, MT, ND, NH, NM, NJ, NV, NY, OH, PA, RI, SD, WA, WY

We are working hard to obtain licenses in all 50 states and even if your state isn’t listed, you can still sign up to receive updates and you can still order chemically batch-validated over-the-counter products from anywhere in the US.

Does ValisureRX accept insurance, Medicare, or Medicaid?

Not yet, we are actively working on incorporating insurance plans into Valisure but currently only accept “cash” payments (of course, you can use your credit card). However, due to the low cost of generic medications, many of our prescriptions may be less expensive than many standard insurance co-pays. Furthermore, you may be able to recoup the cost of your prescription through your insurance company by contacting them.

I buy my meds from a big-name pharmacy, isn’t it already chemically validated by them?

No, often only a subset of batches are analyzed at the manufacturer (usually overseas) and no pharmacy in the United States does their own chemical analysis on every batch; other than Valisure. Pharmacies are not overseen by the FDA and are not expected to and usually don’t test anything (Valisure’s voluntary FDA registration number: 3012063246). ~80% of drug ingredients for the meds sold at any US pharmacy are manufactured in India or China. There are roughly 3 drug recalls in the US every day and 1-2 of those recalls every week are “class I” which are considered life threatening.

Valisure’s proprietary laser-based technology allows it to be the only pharmacy in the US that chemically validates every single batch of medication so you receive only quality, consistent meds.

What does “chemically validated” mean?

It means that we don’t just check the medication by looking at it, we crush up pills from every batch and test the chemicals inside of them using advanced laser technology that our team of Harvard- and Yale-trained scientists developed specifically to ensure medication quality. This chemical analysis makes sure each batch of each dosage of each medication has been rigorously validated to have the ingredients it should and that it will properly dissolve in your body.

Are Valisure medications better than other pharmacies?

It is important to note that Valisure does not manufacture any medications and makes no claims on medication efficacy beyond what a drug was approved for by the FDA. We buy from the same American distributors that other pharmacies buy from, we just work very hard to make sure that every batch of every medication is rigorously analyzed to validate that it will do what your doctor prescribed it for, and do so consistently.

How do I send you my prescriptions?

First ensure that your meds are available on our site by first signing up and browsing our inventory.  If your medication is available, ask your doctor to send your prescription to ValisureRX electronically, available 24/7.  If you or your doctor need to contact us, we’re available:

Our pharmacists are available Monday through Friday, 9 am to 5 pm Eastern Time. Calls placed on weekends or after business hours will be returned on the next business day.

You can also mail your prescription to:

How can Valisure products be sold “at no added cost” – isn’t chemical analysis expensive?

Most contract labs charge hundreds of dollars or more to analyze a single pill; however, Valisure’s proprietary laser-based analytical system allows us to rigorously check medication quality at very low costs without sacrificing precision and accuracy. Furthermore, to ensure a thorough analysis, our procedure is destructive, meaning when we sample a pill, it is crushed so we can test it inside and out. We take multiple samples from each batch but the bigger the batch we buy, the less our analytics costs us per pill we sell; and the analytics are already much cheaper than industry standard.

I found the same meds cheaper somewhere else, what about “no additional cost”?

Valisure strives to make sure its pricing is within the standard range for each drug it sells. The reality is that drug prices vary dramatically between pharmacies, between states and they change daily. Unlike most online pharmacies, Valisure focuses on more than just competing on price and convenience, our first and foremost concern is ensuring the quality of the medications you and your family depend on.

Do I need a prescription from a doctor?

To purchase prescription medications, you do need a valid prescription from a doctor or other health care professional who is licensed to prescribe prescription medications.  We carry an ever-expanding list of over-the-counter medications which have also been validated using our proprietary laser technology, and these do not require a prescription and can be shipped to any state.

Aren’t online pharmacies illegal?

Why can’t I fax my prescription myself?

When patients fax a prescription, they’re making a copy while maintaining possession of the original. Because the copy and the original could then be filled at two separate pharmacies, most states don’t allow patients to fax a prescription themselves.

You can simply have your doctor send us your prescription electronically. Or if you prefer, you can mail us the original copy to:
